
Former Colonel Lineman joins Drillers

Pikeville Kentucky - The Eastern Kentucky Drillers of the Ultimate Indoor Football League have signed Rashaud Mungro from Eastern Kentucky University. Mungro an offensive / defensive lineman who stands 6'6", 304 pounds hails from Hickory North Carolina. Attending Hickory High School he played defensive end starting 2 years varsity.
During high school he would earn All City and All State Honors. While attending Eastern Kentucky University seeing action in more than 33 football games. During 2008 Mungro would start at right guard for the 2008 Ohio Valley Conference Champion Eastern Kentucky Colonel. In 2009 he would join the Af2 Lexington Horseman. As a rookie Mungro played guard & tight end, starting 4 games and playing in 8. Mungro wouldn't get to play in 2010 with the Af2 program shutting down. "Rashaud is a key addition to the Driller on Offense & Defense. He gives us great leadership, and a veteran Lineman who's played Arena Football. Our younger lineman will learn a great deal from his experience" said Head Coach Lance Brown.
Mungro will help anchor a young group of Offensive and Defensive lineman during 2011. "Its great that a player like Rashaud has signed to be a Driller, he played at EKU and was a starter on the 2008 OVC Championship team, the talent surrounding the area is great" said Drillers Team President Rick Kranz.
Players who will also be joining the Drillers are Steve Pytosh- Morehead State, Blake Downer- Penn State University, Demarcus Brooks- Mississippi College, Daniel Eidson- Westminster College, Zane Cooper- Averett University.
"The Eastern Kentucky Drillers are not here to make anyone rich, we are here to Provide Affordable Family and Fan Friendly Entertainment", said Head Coach Lance Brown.
Steve Pytosh 6'4", 290lbs Center from Morehead State. Steve was the Drillers 2nd round Draft Pick during the UIFL Combine & Draft.
Blake Downer 5'11", 225lbs. Fullback from N.M.M.I. Currently Finishing his Education at Penn State University. Blake was the Drillers 4th round Draft Pick during the UIFL Combine & Draft.
DeMarcus Brooks 6'7" 270lbs. Defensive lineman / Fullback from Mississippi College. During his Senior Season earned All- Conference Honors at Offensive Tackle.
Daniel Eidson 6'3", 190lbs. Quarterback from D-III Westminster College. Daniel was 2 times All Conference at Punter & Quarterback, and Special Teams Player of the Year Honors. As a Quarterback Eidson passed for 5,789 yards & 57 touchdowns and rushed for 1240 yards & 13 touchdowns. Was Nationally ranked 21st for total passing yards in the year, 20th passing yards per game, 20th for total passing yards, and 17th for total offense.
Zane Cooper 6'1", 205lbs. Linebacker from Averett University. While at Averett was 3 year starter at both inside and outside linebacker. And was named teams Defensive Player of the Year his Senior Season & Tied teams single season interception record.
The Eastern Kentucky Drillers are members of the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL). Drillers are a Professional Arena Football team that is operating in Eastern Kentucky, with there office being located in Pikeville. They will play a 14 game season with 7 Home Games being played in Eastern Kentucky Expo Center, with first home game starting February 25 at 7pm. Team tickets start at $7.00 and range to $25.00 per game, Season tickets start at $35.00 for all 7 home games.
