Former Barracuda Assigned to Vipers

Huntsville, AL - Former Pensacola Barracuda wide receiver/defensive back, Jerrian James, and former Fairmont State kicker, Nathan White, have been assigned to the Tennessee Valley Vipers by the af2 office.

James played in 14 games last season with the Barracudas and rushed two times for 13 yards and one touchdown and caught 48 passes for 722 yards and 10 touchdowns. He returned 37 kickoffs for 858 yards and three touchdowns and three missed field goals for 49 yards. On defense, he recorded 23.0 tackles, four interceptions, seven pass break ups, one fumble recovery and two forced fumbles.

He played at the University of Houston in 1998 after spending two seasons at Navarro Junior College. He earned second team All-Conference USA honors in 1998 when he caught 80 passes for 1,054 yards and five touchdowns. He finished eighth in the nation in receptions per game and received Houston's offensive Co-MVP. He caught 74 passes for 996 yards and five touchdowns in two years at Navarro.

White went to camp with the Ottawa Renegades of the Canadian Football League last season and works out in the off season with Pittsburgh Steeler punter, Josh Miller. He was a four-year starter at Fairmont State from 1998-2001. He made 27-26 field goals and converted 132-142 extra points. He placed 41 of 163 kickoffs in the endzone and had 24 touchbacks. He averaged 40.8 yards per punt. He was a first-team preseason All-American kicker by Lindy's in 2001 and first team preseason All-American punter by Street and Smith's, PreView Sports and Lindy's.
