Former A-10 Tourney MVP on Board With Groove

GREENVILLE, S.C. (February 25, 2003) - The Greenville Groove of the National Basketball Development League has acquired guard Lynn Greer, according to an announcement today by league Executive Director Karl Hicks and Groove Head Coach Tree Rollins.

Greer, a 6-1, 180-pound guard, played his college basketball at Temple and will join former Owls teammate Kevin Lyde on the Groove roster. As a senior at Temple, Greer averaged 22.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.

The Philadelphia native was named 2001 MVP of the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament after leading Temple to the title and averaging 22.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.7 steals a game.

After playing with the Dallas Mavericks summer league team in the 2002 Rocky Mountain Revue, Greer's most recent experience has been playing for Near East in Greece.

Greer is expected to be in uniform when Greenville (17-20) travels to league-leading Fayetteville (26-14) Wednesday. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. He will wear temporary jersey #3 in that game before being assigned a permanent jersey number prior to the Groove's next game on Friday.
