Philadelphia Force News Release

Kissimmee, Fl - Looking to pick up another crucial win, the Force faced off against the USSSA Pride Thursday evening at Pride Park. Unfortunately, the host Pride was able to even the series at 1-1 following a 7-4 victory.

Thursday's loss dropped the Force's record to 6-20, and moved them to two games behind the Pride. USSSA improved their record to 8-14 on the year.

Despite the loss, the Force still managed to produce a total of eight hits. Picking up a pair of those hits was Clare Burnum who went 2-for-3 on the night. Also producing at the plate was Brette Reagan who recorded a three run home run in the top of the fourth.

USSSA secured their seven runs in the first three innings of the contest. To open up the first inning the Pride took a very quick 3-0 lead, which was then added to in the bottom half of the third. With four more runs on the scoreboard, the USSSA took a comfortable 7-0 lead. However they could not relax for too long as the Force came storming back in the top of the fourth with four runs of their own. Prior to the three run shot from Reagan, the Force saw DeAnn Justice record an RBI single with one out on the board.

The Pride did manage to get out of the inning, and keep the Force off the scoreboard for the final three innings. Philadelphia and USSSA will face off in game three tomorrow evening, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. EST.
