Georgia Force News Release
Duluth, GA (August 23, 2011) - Memories of 2011 are still fresh, but the Force are already focused on bringing an ArenaBowl title to Georgia in 2012. To that end, the Force will get a look at the best talent the southeast has to offer when they hold the first of four planned offseason tryouts on Saturday, September 24 at Silverbacks Sports Center in Suwanee.
"We had great success in 2011 with our open tryouts," said Force head coach Dean Cokinos, "Georgia is a talent-rich region and we are searching for some quality players who can contribute to our organization."
The tryouts will consist of a 40-yard dash, short shuttle, individual drills, and 1-on-1's. Those who preregister by Wednesday, September 21 at 5:00 p.m. will pay a $70 registration fee, while those who sign up after will pay $80. Prospective attendees can download the registration form by visiting GeorgiaForce.com.
"We want tough, hard-working players," said Cokinos, "and this will be the first chance for potential candidates to showcase their abilities."
Kickers will not be evaluated at this tryout, which will begin at 10:00 a.m. with registration opening at 9:00. Registrants may prepay via check or money order, but only cash will be accepted from those who register on site. The Silverbacks Sports Center, located at 4285 Brogdon Exchange NE in Suwanee, will have restrooms and changing areas available. Shoulder pads will not be necessary, though participants are advised to bring workout clothes and appropriate shoes. Those looking to register are advised to send any game film or bio information to playerpersonnel@georgiaforce.com for review prior to tryouts.
