
Fog Devils suffer first preseason loss

The St. John's Fog Devils dropped its first preseason game with a 5-2 loss against the PEI Rocket at McLauchlin Place in Charlottetown, PEI. The club's 2005 preseason record is now 1-1-0.
Goal scorers for the Fog Devils were Zach Tessier and Kenny Pennell. Ilia Ejov stopped 12 of 15 shots he faced, while Brandon Dyke, made his Fog Devils debut and stopped 12 of 14 shots he faced. The Fog Devils outshot the Rocket, 35-29.

The club's next Preseason game is on Wednesday, August 24 when the club faces the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
The Fog Devils also announced today that Etienne Grandmont (F), Brett Provost (D), Tim Sullivan (D) and Jordan Fischer (G) have been released from the Training Camp roster. This brings the number of players remaining to 39.
The Fog Devils play its first ever games on Newfoundland soil, August 27th and 28th against the Halifax Mooseheads at Mile One Stadium. Tickets for this game go on sale to the public on Monday, August 22 at the Mile One Stadium Box Office (starting at 10:00am).
The St. John's Fog Devils are the newest member of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and are one of 58 member clubs of the Canadian Hockey League. The franchise begins its inaugural season in September and plays its Home Opener, September 23rd against the Lewiston MAINEiacs.
