Fog Devils Start Christmas Break in Dramatic Fashion

STILL SMOKIN AT HOME

The Fog Devils continued its impressive run at Mile One Stadium with a pair of wins over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. The club now has entered the Christmas break with 7 straight wins at home and a 12-4-1 record at home overall.

CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN

Scott Brophy continues to lead the Fog Devils on and off the ice. With Oscar Sundh with Team Sweden, Brophy led the club with 5PTS last week and took over the team scoring lead with 32PTS (12G,20A). Brophy recorded his 3rd 4- point game of the season in Saturday's 4-3 win over Cape Breton. In this contest he scored the first hattrick in

OVERTIME HEROICS

Saturday's 4-3 OT win over Cape Breton was the club's first ever overtime win on home ice. The Fog Devils defetaed Lewiston on Sepetmber 23rd in shootout. St. John's has a 2-0-3 record in overtime this year. As a note, 3 of the club's 5 overtime games have come against the Screaming Eagles.

FOG DEVILS AND THE WJC

Forward, Oscar Sundh, was selected to play with Team Sweden in the World Junior Hockey Championships in Vancouver, BC. Sundh becomes the first Fog Devil to be a part of the WJC. Sweden's first game is December 26th vs Russia

CANADA AND THE WJC

Three memebers of the QMJHL will be a part of Team Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships. Forward Guillaume Latendresse (Drummondville) and defencemen Luc Bourdon (Val D'Or) and Kristopher Letag (Val Do'Or) will represent the country.

Defenceman, Keith Yandle, leads all QMJHL defencemen in scoring with 43PTS (12G,31A) in 35 games... Both Mathieau-Girard (4-9=13) and Brad Marchand (5- 7=12) enter the weekend series on 8 game scoring streak... The Moncton roster features 6 players who have been drafted to the NHL...
