Central Illinois Flying Aces News Release

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Central Illinois Flying Aces, a member of the United States Hockey League since 2014, have added former Team USA defenseman Ryan Siedem to the roster for the 2018-19 season.

After playing the 2017-18 campaign with the U.S. National Team Development Program Under-17 team, Siedem becomes the second roster addition for the upcoming season with Team USA ties, joining first overall 2018 USHL Phase II pick Trevor Janicke.

A 6-foot-2, 187-pound native of Madison, New Jersey, Siedem, 17, had a strong first season in the USHL a year ago, tabbing 14 points on three goals and 11 assists in 34 games in the league. Including international competition, the rear guard played 61 total games for the U17 team, as he also represented the U.S. at international play.

Siedem already has ties to the Flying Aces organization. The Flying Aces selected Ryan's younger brother Jason in the third round of the 2018 USHL Phase I Draft. It is possible the duo could play eventually play together with the Flying Aces. They would be the third pair of brothers in team history to play together, joining Zack and Ben Mirageas and Vlad and Maxim Dzhioshvili.

Prior to his time with Team USA, Siedem played one season for Avon Old Farms School during the 2016-17 campaign. He had 15 points in 28 games during that season.

Siedem and the Flying Aces open the 2018-19 home schedule on Saturday, Oct. 6 with a matchup against the Waterloo Black Hawks at Grossinger Motors Arena in downtown Bloomington.

Season tickets and Mini Plans for the 2018-19 season are on sale now. For tickets or more information, call the Flying Aces at 309-434-2980 or visit www.flyingaceshockey.com.
