Schaumburg Flyers News Release

SCHAUMBURG, IL - Kansas City poured four runs across in the first off Flyers starter Dustin Glant and never looked back, trouncing the Flyers 11-3 in front of 5,211 fans Friday Night at Alexian Field.

The first five T-Bones all reached in the first. Aharon Eggleston led off the game with a ground rule double, then scored on Greg Jacobs' single after Damian Rolls walked. Rolls would score on a Craig Hurba double. After Glant hit James Fasano to load the bases, he retired the next two T-Bones hitters before Mark Minicozzi knocked a two-run single to right to complete the scoring in the inning.

The Flyers answered with a pair of one-run innings, with Jose Valdez scoring on a passed ball after tripling in the first, and Felix Jose touching the plate on a two-out TJ Wilson single in the second. They were then silenced until the ninth, when Travis Brown scored on a passed ball from reliever Peyton Tweddale.

Kansas City scored runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh to reach their 11-run total while tying a season-best 16 hit-output. Greg Jacobs led the way for the T-Bones, going 4-5, driving in three and scoring twice.

Victor Ferrante had the best night for Schaumburg, going 3-5. Jose Valdez extended his team-best nine game hit streak with a triple in the first, and finished 2-5.

Glant falls to 4-2 on the season, while Cody McAllister moves to a perfect 3-0, scattering six hits over six innings of work. RHP Tom Lyons (1-2, 5.49) throws tomorrow for the Flyers with Kansas City yet to name a starter. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05, and the game will be followed by a live band.
