
Flyers score 8 to dominate Fielders

SCHAUMBURG, IL - The Fielders made it easy for the Flyers to score early, as Garry Bakker walked seven Flyers in the first two innings. On the home side, however, Brett Harker had another solid start pitching seven innings while allowing two runs on six hits with three strikeouts.
Mario Delgado led it off in the first inning for Schaumburg with a two-run homer, his seventh of the season. Delgado had three RBI on the night while raising his average to .346 in 2010. The Flyers continued their scoring in the bottom of the second with two more runs on four walks taking a 4-0 lead heading to the third inning.
After two quick 1-2-3 innings for Harker, Chris Schultz would get things going again for the Flyers, leading off the bottom of the fourth with a double, and eventually scoring off of Delgado's groundout. Joey Gomes followed with a RBI double and Ron Bourquin would follow him with an RBI single to score three runs in the inning and pushing the lead to 7-0.
In the fifth inning, Juan Valdez would put the Fielders on the board with a two-run home run, but the Flyers would get one back in the bottom of the inning from Ruddy Yan's RBI groundout.
Things got quiet after the fifth as Matt Elliott and Cody Evans would shut down the Fielders for an 8-3 victory. Harker picks up his eighth win of the season in front of an energetic 6,814 fans at Alexian Field. The middle of the lineup for the Flyers went a combined 6-12 with five RBI and two runs scored.
