Flyers Open at Alexian Field Tonight

The Schaumburg Flyers will open up Alexian Field tonight with a big blast for Opening Night! Led by manager Steve Maddock, the Flyers will take on the 2006 Northern League Champion Fargo-Moorehead Redhawks at 6:45pm. Fans entering the gates will receive a Flyers magnet schedule courtesy of National City. After the game, there will be a spectacular fireworks display to celebrate the Flyers' ninth season of baseball. Following the fireworks display, fans will have the opportunity to meet the 2007 Schaumburg Flyers at a postgame party held at the Ballpark Sports Bar and Grill, located at 394 E. Irving Park Rd. in nearby Roselle.

Palatine native and Fremd High School graduate, Dan Grybash will be the Flyers starting pitcher for the opener. It will be the first chance to see Flyers catcher Josh Noviskey, who is in the top-10 in the Northern League in batting average (.375) and leads all Flyers in on-base percentage (.448), and second baseman Demetrius "Meatball" Heath, the league leader in stolen bases (5).
