Orange County Flyers News Release
(Fullerton, CA) - The 2008 Golden Baseball League Champion Orange County Flyers have announced that they will have their 2009 Home Opener on June 9th at 7:05pm against the Victoria Seals.
The schedule became official today when the League Board of Directors approved it.
Opening Night on June 9th will be a huge celebration for the Flyers as last year's team members and staff will be presented with their beautiful Championship Rings. There will also be a Fireworks Show following the game and other special events are being planned.
The defending Champion Flyers will have a tough time this year as they will open the season with 16 straight games on the road due to Goodwin Field being used by Cal State Fullerton for Regionals and Super Regionals.
But if last year is any indication, the trip shouldn't be a problem because the Flyers opened on the road and came home 9 and 3. The trip this year takes them to Tijuana, Chico, Tucson, Victoria, and Calgary before returning home for the Opening Celebration.
This season - Flyers baseball will be THE place to be. Besides our affordable prices and non-stop fun -- every night is a special night. Tuesday's are Baseball Bingo Nights, then Weenie Wednesday with Dollar Hot Dogs, Thirsty Thursdays feature $2.00 Beer and Soda, Fireworks Fridays, and Souvenir Saturdays feature special give-a-ways.
For information on Season Tickets, Group Tickets, and other specials go to the Flyers website at www.orangecountyflyers.com or call 714-526-TEAM (8326).
