
Florida State League Names Pitcher & Player of the Week

The Florida State League named announced today the Player and Pitcher of the Week for the period July 14 "" July 20, 2014.
The Player of the Week was Fort Myers Miracle Outfielder Byron Buxton. In four (4) games he had 10 hits in 20 plate appearances for a .500 batting average. His hits included two (2) homeruns and one (1) triple. He had four (4) RBI's and scored six (6) times. His OBP was .583 and his slugging average was .900. This is Byron's third year in professional baseball and he resides in Baxley, GA.
The Pitcher of the Week was Clearwater Threshers Right-hander Mark Leiter. He started one (1) game and recorded a win. His ERA was 0.00. He pitched a complete game shutout. In nine innings he allowed five (5) hits, no walks, and struck out eight (8) batters. Mark is in his second year of professional baseball and he resides in Forked River, NJ.
