July 7, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release
(Sunrise, Fla.)... Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced today the club has agreed to terms on a one year contract with D *Nathan Paetsch* (PASH).
"Nathan is hard working, high character defenseman who adds more depth to our club's blue line," said Tallon. "He is a responsible player who will be counted upon to play important minutes for our club next season."
Paetsch, 27, has played in 167 NHL contests for Buffalo (2005-10) and Columbus (2010) scoring seven goals with 35 assists and 114 PIM. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound defenseman started the 2009-10 season playing for Buffalo, before being traded to Columbus at the trade deadline, appearing in 21 games recording two points (1-1-2) and six PIM.
The Humboldt, Saskatchewan native was originally drafted by Washington with their second choice (58th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. After not signing with the Capitals, he re-entered the draft and was selected by Buffalo with their seventh choice (202nd) overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
