Florida mourns passing of an owner

(Celebration, Fla.)--The Florida Seals family regrets to announce the passing of minority owner David Baird IV. Mr. Baird, of Moorestown, NJ died at home on Thursday June 23, 2005 after a lengthy illness.

"David's business savvy, intelligence and sense of humor are unique and unmatched to anyone I have ever known." said David Waronker, Seals majority owner, "What I will remember most about David was how he was always available to help and befriend anyone he could any day of the week. He was a great man."

The entire Seals organization extends its deepest sympathy to the family and many friends of David Baird. In fondest memory of their owner the Seals orginization will establish an educational scholarship fund in his name to assist families of students who wish to study the construction industry.

Below is the obituary for David Baird, IV:

BAIRD, DAVID, IV Peacefully on June 23, 2005 at home with his family by his side. Age 68. Beloved husband of Patsy (nee Wright). Devoted father of Cindy Baird of Moores-town, Douglas Brown of Cherry Hill and the late David Stephen Baird.

Loving grandfather of Christine Baird Hill. Dear brother of Genevieve Paxson of Lafayette Hill, PA and Thomas H. Baird and his wife Judie of Haddonfield.Also survived by several loving nieces & nephews & great nieces & nephews.

Born and raised in Haddonfield David has been a resident of Moorestown for the past 18 years, he also enjoyed his homes in Ocean City, NJ and Florida.

He was a graduate of Haddonfield High, class of 1955 and Rutgers Univ., class of 1961 with a Bachelors degree in geology. David joined the Air National Guard in 1961 and was activated during the Berlin Wall Crisis and was discharged in 1962 to take over the family business. He was an entrepreneur and former owner of Haddonfield Lumber Company from 1962-1998.

While he was owner Haddonfield Lumber Company's sales ranking rose to #1 in South Jersey, #2 in the sates & #63 in the country. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing 5-7 PM on Sunday at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt. 73 South & Evesham Rd in Marlton. Funeral Service will be held at 7 PM on Sunday at the Funeral Home. Interment will be Private. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations in David's memory to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr. Suite 300 Marlton, NJ 08053. Inurnment and celebration will be held at a later date at Harleigh Cemetery.
