Florida Extends Qualifying Offers to Seven Players

Rochester, NY)... Florida Panthers General Manager Jacques Martin announced today that the club has tendered qualifying offers to seven of the club's restricted free agents: D Jay Bouwmeester, LW Gregory Campbell, C Drew Larman, D Martin Lojek, C Stefan Meyer, LW Rostislav Olesz and RW Anthony Stewart.

Larman, 22, completed his third season with the Amerks, registering 22 points (10+12) in 54 games. The Buffalo native also notched one assist in six games with the Panthers last season. Last season, Larman was voted the winner of the McCulloch Trophy for his outstanding service to the Rochester community.

Lojek finished his third season on the blueline for Rochester, collecting career-highs in goals (six) and penalty minutes (97) to go along with five assists.

Meyer had a banner year for the Amerks this past season, setting career highs in goals (21), assists (19) and points (40). Meyer completed his third stint with the Amerks as one of only three players to reach the 20-goal plateau.

Stewart also captured career highs in all offensive categories at the close of his third season in Rochester, collecting 13 goals, eight assists and 21 points over the course of 54 games in the red, white and blue. The hard-nosed forward also recorded an assist in 26 games with the Panthers after receiving eight promotions to the National Hockey League.

The Amerks recently announced a three-year affiliation agreement with the Florida Panthers. The Amerks and Panthers have worked together since the 2005-06 season as part of a dual affiliation with the Buffalo Sabres. The Amerks will enter their 53rd season of play at the downtown arena when they begin the 2008-09 AHL season in October.
