Flight Completes Regular Season This Weekend With Playoff Hopes Still Alive

March 20, 2003 - NBA G League (G League)
Huntsville Flight News Release

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., March 20, 2003 – The Huntsville Flight continues to battle for the final National Basketball Development League playoff spot as they complete the regular season with two home games this weekend.

The final games include a date with Mobile, Friday, along with a matchup with North Charleston, Saturday. Both games will be played at the Von Braun Center and start at 7:30 p.m. each night.

Both Mobile and Asheville are eyeing the last berth as well, with Fayetteville, North Charleston and Roanoke having already clinched spots. Greenville and Columbus have been eliminated from postseason consideration.

For the Flight to reach the playoffs, the formula is easy. They must win their final two games, have Mobile lose its last two contests and have Asheville split its final two regular season tilts.

"We really need our fans to come out and support us as this is a big weekend," Flight team president Kurt Luttermoser said. "We have made a really great run over the last month and this team needs strong support to assist the Flight in reaching the playoffs."

The Flight currently holds a 22-26 record, having won three of their last four games and four of their last six.

Friday's game will be "Country Night" at the VBC with the first 750 kids 14 and under receiving Flight replica jerseys along with Flight baseball-style hats. On Saturday, it will be the Flight's "FAN-tastic FAN-ale" as Flight caps will be giving away as well as many different things during the game.
