Flex Run Away from Tide, Move to 6-0

MARKHAM, Ill. - Another balanced scoring attack for the Bloomington Flex has resulted in another Midwest Division win, as the Flex move to 6-0 on the strength of a 133-95 win over the Chicago Tide. The Flex remain the only unbeaten team in the Premier Basketball League, while the Tide fell to 0-7.

The two teams exchanged the lead several times through the midway point of the first quarter, but with 3:17 left, the Flex took a one-point edge and never looked back, opening up a 27-21 lead at the end of the period.

Bloomington continued to pull away in the second, as back-to-back three-pointers by Justin Bocot and Chris McClellan gave the Flex a ten-point lead. With a minute left in the half, Brandon McGee pounded home one of multiple Flex dunks on the night to give the Flex an 11-point lead, which they took into the locker room at halftime.

The Flex poured it on in the third quarter, outscoring Chicago 34-22 in the period, and at one point, opening a 19-point lead. The third quarter ended 90-72 in favor of the Flex.

Bloomington didn't let up in the fourth, outscoring the Tide 43-23, and finishing with its biggest spread of the game at 38 points.

Justin Bocot and Brandon McGee led the Flex with 23 points apiece, while Chris Singletary added 20. Seven Flex players scored in double digits. Cedric Ridle led the Tide with 17.

The Flex return home on Thursday, Feb. 20 to host the Lake Michigan Admirals at 7:05 p.m. at U. S. Cellular Coliseum.
