Fletcher Anderson Commits to Wisconsin-Stevens Point

ODESSA, TX- The Odessa Jackalopes are excited to announce that Jackalopes forward Fletcher Anderson has made a verbal commitment to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to play Division III college hockey for the Pointers. The commitment comes on the heels of Ben Doherty's commitment to Bethel University and Stephen Perez's commitment to Skidmore College.

The Thunder Bay, Ontario native credited the Odessa Jackalopes organization, and more specifically the Odessa coaching staff, for putting him in the position to take the next step in his hockey career.

"They [Coach Fortier and Coach Skidmore] taught me the importance and the level of hard work it takes to be successful," Anderson said. "Not just during games but the compete you need to bring in practices and the gym."

Anderson, in his first year with Odessa, leads the Jackalopes in scoring with 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points on the season. He also leads the Jackalopes in power play goals and shootout goals.

"Fletcher has played a large role in our rebuild in Odessa," said Jackalopes coach Jason Fortier. "He is a skilled player with the ability to make some outstanding plays. Fletcher is liked by his teammates and we are thrilled to have helped him move on to college."

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The Pointers play at the Division III level and are a part of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate athletic conference. They are six-time national champions with thier most recent titles coming in 2016 and 2019.

Anderson will become the latest Jackalope to play for Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Recent Jackalopes alumni that also became Pointers include; Zach Zech, Tyler Pietrowski, Kellen Tharaldson, Connor Scahill, and Ryan MacKellar.
