
Flash Host Portland Thorns FC Wednesday Night in Rochester

ELMA, N.Y. (Tuesday, July 28, 2015) - The Western New York Flash will round out the month of July on Wednesday night, when it concludes a four-game home series at 7 p.m. ET against Portland Thorns FC at Sahlen's Stadium.
About the Matchup
The 2013 NWSL finalists will continue its rivalry on Wednesday night, meeting for the second time this season. Through seven all-time meetings, the Thorns hold the series at 1-3-3 with Western New York's only victory coming on June 7, 2014 when it defeated the Thorns in commanding fashion, 5-0.
The two clubs met earlier this season, with the Thorns edging out the Flash 1-0 at Providence Park on Allie Long's goal.

Flash Last Game
Western New York enters Wednesday's match after falling to the Houston Dash 1-0 on Saturday in Rochester. The Flash posted a season-high 22 shots in the match but were unable to score and were shutout for the fifth time this year.
Carli Lloyd scored the game's lone goal in the 49th minute, heading in a cross from Meghan Klingenberg.
Portland Last Game
The Thorns traveled north to face Cascadia opponent Seattle Reign FC on Sunday. Jessica Fishlock scored what proved to be the game's winning goal in the 38th minute, with Beverly Yanez added a second half brace to lead the Reign to a 3-0 victory over the Thorns.
Game Promotions
Wednesday will be Christmas in July at Sahlen's Stadium, with the first 1,000 fans through Gate D receiving a free Flash Christmas koozie. In addition, lucky fans will have presents delivered to them in-game!
The Flash Shack will also be featuring numerous discounts in a special "holiday" sale.

Next Game
The Flash begin a four-game road trek on Saturday when it travels to face Sky Blue FC at 7 p.m. ET. The Flash return to Sahlen's Stadium in exactly one month, hosting the Chicago Red Stars at 7 p.m. ET on August 29 for its annual Pink game.
