Western New York Flash News Release

ELMA, N.Y. (Saturday, June 27, 2015) - The Western New York Flash will close out a two-game road trip on Sunday, when it travels to face the Boston Breakers for the second time in the 2015 season. The match will kickoff at 5 p.m. ET from Soldiers Field Soccer Stadium, on the campus of Harvard University.

Sunday's match will be streamed live on YouTube and can be watched by clicking the link here. Fans can also follow live play-by-play at the Flash's official Twitter page, @WNYFlash, and can join the conversation by using the hashtag #BOSvWNYF.

The Flash (3-4-1, 10 points) currently sits in eighth place in the league, but are just one point behind the fifth-seeded Breakers (3-4-2, 11 points). With a win, the Flash could jump up the table, pending the results of the rest of this weekend's matches.

Western New York is still searching for it's first win on the road, having dropped its last away match 2-0 on Saturday night in Houston. The Dash scored a goal on both sides of the half, with Jessica McDonald scoring in the 39th minute and Kealia Ohai adding an insurance goal in the 63rd minute. Flash goalkeeper Chantel Jones made a total of six saves, with three coming on point-blank opportunities.

The Breakers are coming off a 3-2 loss suffered last Sunday, falling to Seattle Reign FC. Kristie Mewis and Morgan Marlborough scored for the Breakers, but the Reign rallied to come away with the win.

Sunday's contest will be a rematch of #MewisVsMewis, as sisters Kristie and Samantha Mewis face for just the second time in their playing careers. In their first meeting on May 2 at Sahlen's Stadium, Sam and the Flash came away with the win, a 3-1 decision.

Both sisters lead their respective teams in goals, both with three on the season. Kristie currently leads the NWSL in shots with 44.

Following Sunday's match, the Flash will return to Rochester at 7 p.m. ET on July 3 to host Seattle Reign FC. Tickets for the general admission section are currently 50% off, at just $5 each, as the Flash are running an on-going promotion through the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup. All tickets can be purchased at wnyflash.com, by calling the Flash at (716) 655-PLAY or by contacting the Sahlen's Stadium Box Office at (585) 454-KICK.
