The Flash Trade Draft Pick Mallory Weber to Portland Thorns FC
The Western New York Flash announced today that they have acquired a 2016 international roster spot from Portland Thorns FC in exchange for the rights to 2016 NWSL draft pick Mallory Weber's and a third-round pick in the 2017 NWSL College Draft.
Weber, 21, joined the WNY Flash for preseason as the 14th pick in the 2016 NWSL Draft after winning the 2015 NCAA National Championship with her alma mater Penn State.
The Western New York Flash will open the 2016 NWSL season on Saturday April 16 at reigning champion, FC Kansas City. The WNY Flash will begin its home campaign on Friday, April 29 against the Washington Spirit at Sahlen's Stadium.
