
Flash Academy Adds UEFA "A" Coach

ELMA, NY. (Monday, July 7, 2014) - Sahlen Sports Park and the Western New York Flash Academy are excited to announce the addition of the Academy's newest coach, Jose Manuel Elena Garcia.
"We're excited to have Jose join us," said Western New York Flash Head Coach Aaran Lines. "He comes highly recommended and has extensive youth coaching experience with top level Spanish players in U9 through U13 age groups. Jose is going to be a great addition to the already highly-renowned coaching staff in the Western New York Flash Academy."
Garcia holds a UEFA "A" coaching license and comes to the Flash Academy from Spain, where he most recently coached an Under-10 squad with San Fernando Escolapios. Garcia has coached multiple youth level teams through his 12-year coaching career, which began when he was just 16 years old.
A native of Madrid, Garcia spent the summers of 2012 and 2013 stateside, as he a coach with the World Soccer Summer Camp in Paramus, New Jersey. Garcia has coached youth soccer on all levels, working with players as young as Under-8 through Under-19.
The 27-year -old coach played professionally for six years in Spain's third division. Garcia started his career in 2005 at CDA Navalcarnero, before moving to CD Puerta Bonita in 2006. After two seasons with Puerta, Garcia signed with CP Villejean in the French third division and came back to Spain in 2009 with C.F. Pozuelo. Garcia finished his career as a player with Villanueva del Pardillo.
Jose holds a degree in Physical Education from Camilo Jose University in Madrid and has spent the last five years as the Director of Coaching at Club Deportivo San Fernanco Escolapios where he oversaw 15 different teams.
The Western New York Flash Academy will begin 2014-15 season tryouts this week, starting on Wednesday, July 9. Preregistration is required for all players who wish to attend with a registration fee of $20.
