Flags Players, Mascot Walk for Kids

(PORT HURON, MICH.) - Hometown Flags figures Shayne Tomlinson and Trevor Edwards, along with mascot Slapshot, will walk in the 2006 Community Roof Sit for Kids, on Sunday, Sept. 17.
The St. Clair County Child Abuse/Neglect Council sponsors an annual fundraiser in which local radio personality Chuck Santoni spends a week on top of Birchwood Mall, raising money for the organization. The event kicks off with a community walk from Lakeside Park to the mall at 2 p.m., this coming Sunday.
Tomlinson, Edwards and Slapshot will represent the Flags organization in the walk, proudly displaying their Flags apparel.
Tomlinson, who contributed $5 to the Council for each goal he scored last season, will be on the air with Santoni once the walk is completed. In an effort to encourage people to contribute, the Flags have donated two premium seating tickets for the Flags home opener on Saturday, Oct. 14, to be given away during the event.
"I'm pretty excited to do the walk this year," said Tomlinson. "It's a great cause and I hope that the community will genuinely support it, so the event will be successful for the Council."
Additionally, the Port Huron Flags Booster Club raised over $700 for the Child Abuse/Neglect Council last season.
