Five More Players Coming to Phantoms

Lehigh Valley, PA - The Philadelphia Flyers announced more roster moves today with two players being assigned to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and three others being placed on waivers for purposes of assigning to Lehigh Valley on Saturday, September 27.
LW Taylor Leier and LW Darroll Powe have both been assigned to Lehigh Valley by Philadelphia which brings the total number of players currently on the Phantoms roster to 21.
The Flyers have also placed RW Andrew Gordon, D Oliver Lauridsen and D Brandon Manning on waivers for the purpose of assigning them to the Phantoms tomorrow.
Taylor Leier appeared in two preseason games for the Flyers. The 20-year-old rookie also scored two goals for the Phantoms in an AHL preseason game in Newark, NJ on Tuesday, September 23.
Darroll Powe played in two preseason games for the Flyers this year. The NHL veteran and former Flyer had played in 95 games for the Philadelphia Phantoms across three seasons from 2006-07 through 2008-09.
AHL veteran Andrew Gordon appeared in two preseason games for Philadelphia scoring one goal and one assist. Brandon Manning and Oliver Lauridsen both played in one preseason game with the Flyers. Manning was an assistant captain on the Phantoms the last two seasons while Lauridsen is the longest tenured player on the team having played in 189 games for the Phantoms after initially joining four seasons ago.
The "Battle on Hamilton" is this Saturday at 5:00 PM marking the debut of hockey at the state-of-the-art PPL Center, which will host 40 Phantoms home games over the next seven months, including a pair of preseason tilts next week. This historic event is sold out.
Lehigh Valley will face off against the Hershey Bears next Wednesday, October 1 at 7:05 PM before hosting the Albany Devils on Saturday, October 4 at 7:05 PM.
