New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

Manchester, NH - CF Justin Singleton launched the first Gill Stadium home run for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, a two-run 5th-inning blast that would prove to be enough for the Fishers to blank the Trenton Thunder, 2-0 Friday night. The Fisher Cats improve to 5-1 on the season, while the Thunder slips to 2-3 after being shut out for the second straight ballgame.

3B Danny Solano (2-3, 1 R), starting at 3B in place of injured Rob Cosby, delivered a two-out double that preceded the Singleton shot over the rightfield wall.

LHP Gustavo Chacin (1-0) earned his first victory, scattering 3 hits over the first 5 innings. Chacin struck out 2 and walked no one.

The untouchable Fisher Cat bullpen took care of the rest. RHP Jordan DeJong (2 IP), RHP Kevin Frederick (1 IP) and RHP Adam Peterson (1 IP) held the Thunder hitless over the final four innings. Peterson improved to 4-for-4 in save opportunities.

RHP Todd Ozias is slated to make his Fisher Cat debut Saturday afternoon against Trenton RHP Javier Ortiz (0-0, 5.40). Game time is 1:05pm. All Fisher Cat games can be heard on the WKXL Radio Network 30 minutes prior to first pitch.
