OSHAWA, ON - The Oshawa FireWolves of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) today announced forward Jeff Teat as their 1st overall pick in the Dispersal Draft of the Ottawa Black Bears and Philadelphia Wings.

Jeff Teat joins the FireWolves after producing 115 points on 44 goals and 71 assists with the Ottawa Black Bears during the 2025-2026 NLL season, which was fourth in league scoring. He is the fastest player in NLL history to reach 600 career points which he did in only five seasons played.

"The opportunity to get a player of Jeff's calibre is very special for our organization," said Glenn Clark, General Manager and Head Coach of the Oshawa FireWolves. "We're really excited to add Jeff to our core and have this group take the next step towards a championship."

The 29-year-old lefty forward from Brampton, ON has an impressive list of accolades across junior, collegiate, professional, and international competition.

He was MVP of Ontario Junior A Lacrosse in 2016 and 2017, a three-time All-American at Cornell University, 2022 NLL Rookie of the Year, two-time First Team NLL, and three-time Second Team NLL. In the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL), he was named 2021 Rookie of the Year, is a four-time All-Star, named 2024 PLL MVP, won the 2025 PLL Championship, and was named MVP of the 2025 Championship game. Internationally, he has competed for Canada in the World Lacrosse Field Championships, World Lacrosse Box Championships, and World Games. He won the 2024 WLBC Championship with Team Canada.

Known for his cerebral style of play, Teat will elevate the FireWolves offense with his elite goal scoring and playmaking ability. He has scored 108 points or more in all five of his NLL seasons with his career high being 136 points in 2023. He served as Team Captain with the Ottawa Black Bears and will bring his tremendous leadership and work ethic to Oshawa.

The FireWolves are excited for an exceptional player like Jeff Teat to join the team as it prepares for its second season in Oshawa and for a push to the playoffs.

NLL Free Agency will begin on Friday, September 18 and the 2026 NLL Entry Draft presented by Capelli Sport will take place at 6 p.m. ET on Thursday, September 24.
