Firecats Team Up to Deliver Toys at Children's Hospital

Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats are teaming up with the Mike from Minny & Friends Children's Foundation and Pinchers' Crab Shack to help make Christmas a little brighter for some area children.
Head Coach Kevin Bouis and quarterback Chris Wallace will join Santa Claus as he delivers toys to kids spending the holidays at the Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida on Thursday December 11th from 2-5pm.
Santa will be delivering the gifts to the hospital Thursday December 11th. Bouis and Wallace will help Santa pass out the gifts and spend time with the children who ages range from infants to teenagers.
"This is an excellent opportunity for us and all of our fans, to get involved and bring joy and happiness to a child, during the holiday season" said Firecats President/GM Chris Vallozzi. "The Mike from Minny & Friends Children's Foundation does amazing work each year and we're just thrilled to be apart of it". The Firecats have participated in the toy drive since 2001.
Gifts were collected this past Saturday December 6th during the Mike from Minny & Friends Children's Foundation 7th Annual Christmas Party and Toy Drive. The Christmas Party was held at the South Ft. Myers Pinchers' Crab Shack, 15271 McGregor Boulevard in the McGregor Point Shopping Center. Guests brought gifts to be wrapped by the Mom's Club of Ft Myers South.
The Florida Firecats will conduct their second open tryout Saturday January 24th at Estero High School. The tryout is open to all players and positions. Players will be required to participate in a Pro-Style combine, outdoors on natural grass. Proper workout attire is required and cleats are recommended. The tryout will begin at 11 a.m. Registration will begin at 10 a.m.
A $75 cash only registration fee is due the day of the tryout. Players are encouraged to per-register by calling the Firecats office at 239-390-CATS (2287) or by visiting the team online at www.FloridaFirecats.com.
