Firecats' Bouis and Wallace to Speak at Sportsmania

Estero, FL- Florida Firecats Head Coach Kevin Bouis and QB Chris Wallace will be speaking with local children at the Wa-Ke Hatchee Recreation Center's Sportsmania day Monday October 2nd at 1pm.

Coach Bouis and Chris Wallace will be talking with the kids about what it's like to play and coach professional football and what it takes to be successful both on and off the field.

The Wa-ke Hatchee Recreation Center is located at 16760 Bass Road in Ft. Myers, next to Lexington Middle School. Contact Greg Mooneyham at 239-432-2154 for more information about the center.

The Wa-Ke Hatchee Recreation Center, which gets it's name from the Calusa Indians and Lexington Middle School is an innovative, cooperative venture between Lee County Board of County Commissioners and the School Board of Lee County. The center is open to the public during the day with amenities that include classrooms, meeting space, dance and aerobics rooms, weight room and locker and shower facilities. The Middle School uses space in the building for Physical Education and Wellness classes, locker rooms, Band and Chorus.

The Firecats will hold their first open tryout at Estero High School Saturday November 4th. Players will be asked to participate in a Pro-Style combine. Workout attire and cleats are recommended. The tryout will be held outdoors and will begin at 11am. Registration will begin at 10am, but players are encouraged to per-register by calling the Firecats office at 239-390-CATS (2287), by contacting Coach Bouis directly at 239-645-6044 or by visiting the team online at www.floridafirecats.com

Last season WR/LB Brittney Tellis was discovered at an open tryout. Tellis finished the year 2nd on the team in receptions with 89 for 895 yards and 31 touchdowns.
