Florida Firecats News Release

Estero, FL- With training camp beginning on Wednesday, the Firecats continue to beef up their line, this time by adding 6'4" 285lb OL/DL T.J. Ghoulston.

This will mark the 3rd year that the Penn State alum has played for the Firecats. In 2004, TJ played in 12 regular season games and had 17.5 tackles, 2 sacks and forced 2 fumbles. His offensive play was just as impressive, where he was part of Florida's dominating line which gave up just 6 sacks during the '04 regular season. In 2005 he appeared in 6 games registering 4 tackles to go along with 3 receptions and 1 touchdown. Ghoulston also spent time with the af2's Cincinnati Swarm in 2003.

The coaching staff is looking forward to Ghoulston's return, says coach Bouis, "he's an all around solid player. He's ready, refocused and it's exciting to get him back."

Ghoulston's veteran presence on the line further strengthens the leadership and experience of the unit. "It's going to be very solid, quite a few people coming back," said Coach Bouis on how he rates this year's line.

TJ will have an opportunity to use his experience in helping the influx of young talent pick up the game sooner. With the addition of Ghoulston and a few key rookies, the Firecats have added more speed on the defensive line, a key to their defensive success.

The Florida Firecats open the 2006 season Saturday April 8th on the road against the defending Champion Memphis Xplorers. The Firecats will host the Xplorers Saturday April 22nd at Germain Arena for the home opener.

Single game tickets go on sale Wednesday March 15th. Call 390-CATS (2287) to reserve your seats.
