Tupelo, MS--The Tupelo FireAnts hit the road this weekend as they take on the Evansville BlueCats in Indiana on Saturday.
The Tupelo FireAnts come into tomorrow's game in sixth place in the Atlantic conference with an overall record of 6-4, and a 1-3 mark on the road. The FireAnts are on a two-game losing streak after falling to the Lake Charles LandSharks by a score of 59-55 last Saturday night in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The FireAnts have scored a league-high 60 points per game, while allowing 49. Tupelo is averaging a league-high 108 yards on the ground per game, with 158 through the air for a total of 266 yards of offense per game. Tupelo's defense has allowed 78 yards rushing per game, and an average of 185 yards passing for a total of 263 yards of offense per game, with a total of 17 sacks, 5 fumble recoveries, and 18 interceptions. For the season, the FireAnts have been penalized an average of 5 times for 33 yards per game.
The Evansville BlueCats come into this week's game in tenth place in the Atlantic Conference with an overall record of 4-6, including a 2-3 record at home. The BlueCats are on a two-game losing streak after dropping a 31-27 decision against the Atlantic City CardSharks last Saturday night at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The BlueCats have scored 45 points per game, while allowing 53. Evansville is averaging 80 yards on the ground per game, with 168 through the air for a total of 248 yards of offense per game. The BlueCats defense has allowed 90 yards rushing per game, and an average of 166 yards passing for a total of 256 yards of offense per game, with a total of 17 sacks, 5 fumble recoveries, and 10 interceptions. For the season, the BlueCats have been penalized an average of 7 times for 48 yards per game.
