TUPELO, MS--The Tupelo FireAnts will take on the visiting Lake Charles LandSharks this Saturday, May 22nd at the BancorpSouth Center starting at 7:05pm.

This week's game features a National Indoor Football League Atlantic South Division showdown between the Tupelo FireAnts and the Lake Charles LandSharks. These two teams last met during last season, as Lake Charles prevailed 51-24 in Tupelo. Tupelo trails the overall series one game to three.

The Tupelo FireAnts come into this week's game in second place in the Atlantic South Division with a record of 5-2, including 3-2 in the division, and a 4-0 record at home. The FireAnts are on a one-game losing streak after falling to the Houma Bayou Bucks on Saturday, May 1, in thrilling 84-55 barnburner. The FireAnts have scored a league-high 60 points per game, while allowing 47. Tupelo is averaging a league-high 118 yards on the ground per game, with 143 through the air for a total of 261 yards of offense per game. Tupelo's defense has allowed 79 yards rushing per game, and an average of 176 yards passing for a total of 255 yards of offense per game, with a total of 13 sacks, 4 fumble recoveries, and 14 interceptions. For the season, the FireAnts have been penalized 40 times for 296 yards.

The Lake Charles LandSharks come into this week's game in fifth place in the Atlantic South Division with a record of 2-5, including a mark of 0-4 in the division, and a 1-2 record on the road. The LandSharks are on a 2-game losing streak after dropping a 31-27 decision against the Houma Bayou Bucks last Saturday night at the Lake Charles Civic Center.
