Tupelo FireAnts News Release
The Tupelo FireAnts lost against the Beaumont Drillers at the Beaumont Civic Center in East Texas, 33-10, Saturday night.
Tupelo defensive lineman Christopher Eggleston blocked a field goal out of the back of the end zone resulting in a safety during the second quarter.
âAnts running back Chris Rainey scored Tupelo's lone touchdown on a 7-yard run in the fourth quarter. Rainey then ran in the 2-point conversion to give the FireAnts 10 points for the game.
Tupelo netted 145 yards of offense in comparison to Beaumont's 238.
The FireAnts will take on the Lake Charles LandSharks on the road this Saturday at the Lake Charles Civic Center in Louisiana. The game kicks off at 7:05pm. Listen to all of the home and away action of FireAnts football live on WBIP 99.3FM and also online at www.fireantsfootball.com.
