Wenatchee Fire News Release
WENATCHEE, WA - Juan Viveros, of USL's Premier Development League 2008 All-Western Conference Team, has signed a Professional Arena Soccer League contract with the Wenatchee Fire FC.
Viveros, a 29-year-old defender, joins Yakima Reds teammate Junior Garcia and Brandon Hammer as the third player to be signed by the Wenatchee Fire FC who will begin their inaugural PASL season November 15, 2008 when they open against the Stockton Cougars at the brand new Town Toyota Center in Wenatchee, WA.
Viveros has been a team captain and mainstay in the Yakima Reds defense since 2004. Juan attended and played for Wenatchee Valley Community College in 2004 and 2005 leading the Knights to the NWAACC championship in 2005, and earning league all-star status in both seasons played. '"Momia' is a beast. His physical presence and technical ability make a very intimidating combination," said Nelson Zaldivar, former coach and head coach of WVCC Men's Soccer Team.
"Juan is a formidable defender who has a commanding presence on the field," said, Mike Osborn, General Manager and Head Coach of the Wenatchee Fire FC. "He is ready to take his game to the next level. Juan was a major contributor in our 2006 PASL NW Regional Championship season where the team went 13-0 before being eliminated by the eventual champion, Sacramento FC. He is a very intuitive player who is able to stymie attacks, make great distribution decisions and has a cannon for a shot. Juan will bring great leadership to the team and will be a solid role model both on and off the field for the 126,000 plus youth that play soccer in Washington State."
