Boston Cannons News Release

The 7-4 Boston Cannons play the 6-5 New Jersey Pride in the teams' final regular season game Thursday August 14 at 7:30PM at Commerce Bank Ballpark, Bridgewater, NJ. The Cannons enter the game winners of five of their last six, including a playoff-clinching rout of Bridgeport on August 7, 21-15 (see story below). This is the third straight year the Cannons will appear in the MLL Playoffs. The Pride have also clinched a playoff spot.

Thursday's game will determine where the Cannons and Pride are seeded in the 2003 MLL Playoffs. Baltimore and Long Island clinched the National and American Division titles respectively, so they have garnered the 1-2 seeds. The two teams play this weekend, the winner getting the top seed, the loser the second seed. The winner of the Cannons/Pride game earns the third seed and will play the loser of the Lizards/Bayhawks game.

The Cannons are 1-1 against the Pride in 2003, winning in overtime in the season opener on May 31. Boston lost to New Jersey 17-13 on June 27.

You can catch all the live play-by-play of the game on the Boston Cannons Web Radio Network presented by New Balance with Jason Chandler. The pregame show begins at 7:15PM. Faceoff on Thursday is at 7:30PM.
