Final nine events bring excitement to playoff push Rosemont, Ill. -- With just eight home games and two special events left on the 2011 season, the Chicago Bandits are gearing up to end the season with a bang. Pink in the Park Night, a bowling event and more remain as the final events of 2011. Let's take a look at what is in store for the month of August.

Tuesday, August 2 - Strike Out Cancer with the Bandits Is seven-ten split or gutter ball in your vocabulary' Maybe 300 pins is your goal but you'll settle for a good, fun time on the lanes' If so, the Chicago Bandits "Striking Out Cancer" bowling event is the perfect place to beat the heat and have a good time bowling with your favorite Chicago Bandits players.

Brunswick Zone (3111 River Road, River Grove, IL 60171) will play host to the Tuesday night bowling event which begins at 7 p.m. and ends at 9:30 p.m. Registration for the event is now open and costs just $7/each or $25 for a group of four. A portion of every participant's registration fee will be donated to Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Food and drinks (soda and water) will also be provided.

Thursday, August 4 - Play it Forward Night, Bandits vs. Akron Racers The Chicago Bandits invite you to give the gift of softball on Thursday, August 4, through "Play it Forward Night" at Rosemont Stadium. The idea of "Play it Forward Night" is for Bandits fans and local businesses to purchase tickets for donation to several select charities in the Chicagoland area, allowing those that may not normally be able to enjoy a Bandits game.

The Rookie Package is $105 and includes 15 tickets to be donated and recognition in the game notes and program for that day. The All-star Package is a step up at $175 and gives the gift of softball to 25 kids. It also includes video board and game day program recognition. Purchasers of the All-star package also receive two complimentary Club tickets to the August 4 game. The VIP Package is the big kahuna of "Play it Forward Night," bringing 50 kids to the game, video board and print recognition as well as four complimentary seats for the ballgame against the Racers.

Friday, August 5 - National Night Out with the Bandits, Bandits vs. Akron Racers On August 2, members of the Chicago Bandits will join in the 28th Annual National Night Out in Hoffman Estates, Ill. As a crime and drug prevention program, National Night Out aims to generate support and participation in local anti-crime programs, as well as strengthen the spirit of the community and police partnerships in the fight for a safer nation. Mention National Night out with the Bandits and receive discounted tickets in the club and box seats. Through this special deal, the Bandits are offering club seats for $10 and box seats for $8.

Prior to their game against the Akron Racers, the Bandits will pay a special visit to Wrigley Field. Monica Abbott will be throwing out the first pitch before the Cubs take on the Cincinnati Reds at 1:20 p.m.

Saturday, August 6 - Kids Run the Bases! Bandits vs. Akron Racers The Chicago Bandits younger fandom will have a chance to dash on the base paths of Rosemont Stadium with "Kids Run the Bases" night. After the Bandits and Akron Racers game, kids will have the opportunity to show off their speed by running the bases of Rosemont stadium. At the conclusion of the game, children interested in running the bases will need to head over to the left field gate. Children of all ages are encouraged to dash the bases Saturday, August 6. Sunday, August 7 - Taylor Swift Night, Bandits vs. Akron Racers

There won't be any teardrops dropped on anyone's guitars on Sunday, August 7. Instead, they'll like be tears of happiness as the Chicago Bandits will be hosting Taylor Swift Night at Rosemont Stadium. The Bandits will be taking on the Akron Racers and fans in attendance have a chance to win a pair of tickets to Swift's sold out show on Tuesday, Aug. 9 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont. Seats for the Taylor Swift concert are located in the Aramark Suite and food will be included with the night out.

Four tickets are available for fans to win either by raffle or by competing against each other in a battle of their vocal skills. One pair of tickets will be given away to the lucky winner of the $2 raffle drawing. Raffle tickets for Taylor Swift will be sold at every game during the Akron Racers vs. Chicago Bandits series, Aug. 4-7. The winner of the two tickets will be joined at the concert with two Bandits players. Another pair of tickets will go to the winner of the in-game singing contest. Singers will sign up before the game and participants will be announced at the top of the second inning. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., a total of ten participants will be chosen to compete throughout the game. A fan vote following the fifth inning will determine the winner of the singing contest. Bonus points will go to contestants that dress up as Taylor Swift. Thursday, August 11 - Youth Sports Night, Bandits vs. USSSA Pride Every professional athlete started playing their sport at a young age. On Thursday, August 11, the Chicago Bandits will pay homage to the place where it all started with Youth Sports Night. Athletes of every sport are invited to spend the night with the Chicago Bandits, participate in an on-field parade and more as the Chicago Bandits open a four game series against the USSSA Pride.

Friday, August 12 - College Night, Bandits vs. USSSA Pride The Chicago Bandits are celebrating higher education on Friday, August 12 with College Night. Alumni, current students and future college students are all invited to come celebrate with the Bandits. The university or college with the most representatives in attendance will be awarded a $500 scholarship. Make sure to wear your school colors and show your school spirit! Saturday, August 13 - Pink in the Park Night / Wiffle Ball Tournament (during day) / Kids Run the Bases! Bandits vs. USSSA Pride Saturday, August 13 is jam packed with exciting promotions. The day starts off with the inaugural Chicago Bandits Wiffle Ball Classic, presented by Sterling Athletics, at Rosemont Stadium. Two age divisions make up the tournament with a youth division (13 & under) and an adult division (14 & up). Teams of three to five are invited to play for just $100 a team. The Bandits are going pink on Saturday night for Pink in the Park Night. Commemorative pink jerseys will be worn by the Bandits and almost everything will be pink for the day. Bases, wristbands and more will be pink in support of Pink in the Park Night. Each jersey on Saturday, August 13, will be auctioned off during the game.

In addition, the Bandits have teamed up with Clover Media Worx and Rockford's Country Q98.5 to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. $5 raffle tickets will be sold at the remaining Chicago Bandits home games for the 2011 season with the winner receiving the Ultimate Bandits Tailgate Party Pack which includes a Chicago Bandits bean bag board set that will be autographed by either Monica Abbott or Jennie Finch. Sunday, August 14 - Fan Appreciation Day, Bandits vs. USSSA Pride For the final game of the season, the front office of the Chicago Bandits will be pulling out all the stops with special giveaways, door prizes and more as part of Fan Appreciation Day. Bandit's fans have made the first season in Rosemont Stadium a very special one and we want to thank you for all your dedication. The final game of the four game series against the Florida Pride is sure to be intense as both teams will be looking to end the regular season with a victory.
