Toronto - The Toronto Rock players, staff and fans have raised close to $5,000 as we arrive at the final day of Movember. At the beginning of November, several Rock players along with their Mo Bros around the globe vowed to grow moustaches for the month to raise money for men's health issues, and more specifically Prostate Cancer research.

Recently, Rock Owner and President Jamie Dawick announced that he would match the donations that were collected by members of the Rock Movember Team.

"I've said it before, but I really am proud of our guys and our fans who've been promoting the cause and raising awareness throughout the month," said Dawick. "I'm looking forward to seeing the final number we reach at the end of today after one last push."

This isn't the first time the Rock owner has donated from his own pocket to support a cause. In 2010, following the Haiti earthquake that left the country and its citizens in despair, Dawick stepped up. At the January 23rd, 2010 Toronto Rock game against the Rochester Knighthawks at Air Canada Centre he pledged $1,000 for each goal the Rock scored that night. The players did the rest as the home side went on to a 17-3 win over the Knighthawks and Dawick donated $17,000 to Haiti relief efforts.

The Rock team is led by Movember Captain Josh Sanderson along with Mo Bros Kasey Beirnes, Matt Roik, Glen Bryan and Stephen Hoar. To donate, you can visit www.torontorock.com/Movember for more information.
