
Filion and Nolin suspended

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, January 22, 2007 - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League disciplinary committee today imposed suspensions to two players following games which were held over the week-end.
Shawinigan Cataractes winger Francis Filion is suspended two games after he illegally hit an opposing player from behind in a game against the Lewiston MAINEiacs last Friday.
Moreover, Victoriaville Tigres forward Dave Nolin receives a one-game suspension after having administered an illegal hit from behind in a game versus the Drummondville Voltigeurs yesterday.
The decisions were rendered after viewing the videotapes of the incidents and consulting all concerned parties. The suspensions are in effect as of today.
In accordance with the QMJHL policy in the matter of disciplinary sanctions, the disciplinary committee will not be available for further comment.
