Florida Seals News Release
[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.]-For the fifth straight game the Seals made sure to keep the road fans in their seats until the end. Florida dominated Fayetteville on the ice but only squeaked out a 2-1-shootout victory.
It was the second shootout of the year for the Seals and the second time it took six rounds, one more than the regulation five, to get the win. Justin Keller notched his 20th goal of the season pushing the Seals win streak to five games.
Fayetteville came into the game skating three players short due to suspension and injuries, but gave Florida all they could handle. FireAntz goalie Chad Collins and Seals goalie Terry Denike stole the show most of the night.
After 40-minutes of scoreless hockey the FireAntz found the magic. Only 25-second into the period Nick Karmanyos dropped a pass to George Nistas who beat Denike to the glove side. As the theme has been recently for the Seals, an unlikely hero started to emerge. Andrew Katzberg tied the game up five minutes into the third period breaking the Collins shutout.
Florida will end their season long 13 game road trip Saturday night in Columbus. After a slow start the Seals have amassed a 6-5-1 record away from the Silver Spurs Arena. The puck drops at 7:30 with the pre-game show starting at 7:15 on Talk Radio 1190 WAMT.
