Player Spotlight Pierree Dagenais
Akwesasne Warriors
Dagenais was selected in the second round, 47th overall, by the New Jersey Devils at the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to being drafted into the NHL, Dagenais made his mark in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with three different teams. In 197 Games in the QMJHL, Dagenais amassed 150 goals, 116 assists totaling for 266 points. The 6'5" and 215 lbs right winger made his debut in the NHL with New Jersey Devils in the 2000-2001 season. Dagenais made a few stops between the AHL and the NHL in his career, a short stint in Florida with the Panthers and then made his way to his hometown Montreal Canadiens. Pierre played two seasons with the Montreal Canadiens in 82 games he amassed 22 goals, 17 assists, 39 points. Dagenais left the NHL to play in Europe for the last five seasons, 1 year in Finland, 2 years in Austria and the last two in Russia's KHL. In just 5 games, Pierre has 12 goals and 10 assists for 22 points and is a +17.
Justin Levac
1000 Islands Privateers
Justin Levac comes to the Privateers with extensive experience in junior hockey. Justin started with the Brampton Batallion at the age of 15 and played there for 3 years. Levac went to the Kingston Frontenacs as part of the two players and five pick package that Brampton used to get current Detroit Red Wings prospect Cory Emmerton. Justin moved up to the Voyageurs and contributed eight goals and six assists in the Voyageurs' Buckland Cup championship campaign. Justin contributed a career high of 40 points last season in just 50 games. Coach Elberty may want to pair Justin with his former teammate in Kingston, Ryan Pearson. "He's a good two-way hockey player. He's a good-sized guy and plays well without the puck," Coach noted. Started with Brampton Battalion at age 15. In just 4 games so far, Justin has 7 goals and 8 assists for 15 points and is a +11.
Player Spotlight Pete Dundovich
Brooklyn Aviators
Comes back for second season with the Aviators. Had a 6-4-0 (10 GP) mark with a 3.48 GAA and a .906 save %. Played two years of college hockey at UMASS Boston (ECAC East) and Framingham State (ECAC NE) in NCAA Division III. Is currently 4th in the FHL with a 2.78 GAA and a 914 Save Pct
Matt Puntureri
New Jersey Outlaws
Brings years of competitive hockey experience to the Aviators. Played four years in the OHL for three different teams. Racked up 63 points during his tenure in the O. Then went on to the ECHL and SPHL, where he netted 26 goals for the Twin City Cyclones in two seasons. Competed for the New Jersey Rockhoppers in the EPHL, and most recently with Morzine-Avoriaz in France. Matt was traded to NJ during the off season from Brooklyn. In 6 games played he has 2 goals and 11 assists for 13 points and is a +5
