Prowlers win 4-1, and Steal Home Ice from Danville in 1st Round
(Port Huron, MI)The Prowlers needed a win in regulation to secure their 2nd place finish and home ice advantage in the playoffs and that's exactly what they got in a 4-1 victory against Danville to close out the season.
First period Port Huron would net both goals. Dustin Skinner would net the ice breaker from Jared Hicks, and with 47 seconds left to go in the period, Matt Beer would double the lead receiving a pass from Junior Harris behind the net to, and the Prowlers would take a 2-0 lead into the dressing room after one.
In the middle frame Port Huron would double their gap with two more goals from Matt Beer and Justin Alonzo. Alonzo's goal gives him 89 points on the season good for 3rd in F.H.L. scoring.
Ray Tremblay would put the Dashers on the board making it a 4-1 hockey game. It would stay that way through the rest of the game Andy DiCristofaro picks up his 25th win to close out the season and the Prowlers will have home ice advantage in the 1st round of the Commissioner's Cup playoff.
Port Huron will travel to Danville on Friday night for game 1, while having games 2 and 3 at home, on Saturday and Sunday.
Riverdrivers Come Up Short in Home Finale

The Danbury Titans held on to defeat the Berlin Riverdrivers 3-2.
Berlin opened the game just 5:02 into the first period as Mike Henrici scored on the powerplay. Danbury would answer with two goals of their own. The first coming at 16:05 when John Scorcia found the back of the net. Titans Phil Bronner would make it 2-1 at 18:13 of the first period. Danbury would take a 2-1 lead into the second period. The Riverdrivers would strike quickly in the second period. Just :35 into the second Henrici would tie the game at 2. the rest of the second would be quite along with much of the third period. At 12:51 of the third period Titans John Scorcia would call his own number off the faceoff and bury one past the Berlin netminder. The game would finish 3-2 in favor of the Titans.
Dayton Buries Brewster 6-1 in Regular-Season Finale

DAYTON, OHIO - In the last regular season game at Hara Arena, the Dayton squad put their petal to the medal fifteen seconds in and handle the Brewster Bulldogs 6-1.
Right off the face-off, Dayton went on the attack, connecting with Robert Vanwynsberghe deep in the slot from Michael Dolman and Martin Uhnak. The three high-flying forwards went to work on the right side of the ice before making it to the doorstep of Bobby Bowden. Vanwynsberghe chipped in his twelfth Dayton goal and his eighteenth overall, with Dolman picking up his first of three assists and Uhnak's 46th. Dayton lead 1-0 right off the bat and never let go of the throttle. Nearly fourteen minutes later, Uhnak would pump in his first of three goals on the contest with Dolman and Vanwynsberghe on stand-by. The three forwards helped out on the first three goals of the game and four out of the six. At the 16:08 mark, Uhnak chased Bowden away from the net, scoring deep in the slot from Dolman and Vanwynsberghe for a 3-0 Dayton lead. Jeromy Semtner, recently on a loan to the ECHL's Indy Fuel squad, took over in relief and for the 26th time on the season.
After Dayton jumped out to three goals, it was Cory Giroux giving the home team in the special tops a 4-0 lead. Giroux striking for his eleventh Dayton goal and his eighteenth overall was aided by the passing off Jacques Lamoureux and Ryan Timar, the two Air Force men in action. At the 13:05 mark, Brewster scores their lone tally on an Alex Johnson offering that cleared the goal line behind the stretched-out back of Jo St. Pierre. Johnson's 22nd of the year was drove in with the pressure of Dustin Jesseau and John Scully. After the ice settled, Dayton led 4-1 after two.
In the third frame, Shea Carey crashed the house for Dayton's fifth goal on the night at the 12:48 mark. Carey, along with Eric Witzel and Dan Loughlin, had a couple of sharp moves around the net. It was Carey tipping in his third goal of the year right past Semtner and the first of two in the period. Martin Uhnak, four minutes later, asked for the hats to rain upon the ice of Hara Arena by striking in his third on the night and his team-leading 36th goal of the season. Uhnak's last goal of the regular season was provided by the third Vanwynsberghe assist on the night and Myles McCauley joining on the offensive line. In the end, Dayton won 6-1 on Military Appreciation Night for the last regular season game of the season.
Brewster finished the season compiling an 18-30-5 record and a 7-17-5 record away from home. Dayton moved up to a 23-27-5 record and a Hara Arena record of 14-10-3 on the year. In the series, Dayton won five of the seven games played, winning three of four at home vs. Brewster. Jo St. Pierre picked up the win with a 38 save performance, improving his record to 9-7-2 in twenty games.
What a season for the Dayton squad, it was.
