Danbury Titans News Release

In the last meeting between the two teams of the season, things were different than the last few games. While Danbury had previously dominated with 20 goals in two games, this contest would be much closer as the Titans needed a late goal to get the win by a score of 3-2.

The first period showed the effectiveness of each teams' power play units as three goals were scored on the man advantage. After Berlin struck first, John Scorcia tallied to tie things up. Less than three minutes later, Phil Bronner scored to give Danbury the lead going into the second period.

The lead would not last long as Mike Henrici got his second goal of the evening just 34 seconds into the second period. From there the game got physical with multiple fights and penalties. However, no more goals would be scored.

The third period would be back and forth and both teams showed fatigue from the previous two games against each other. Just under 13 minutes into the period Scorcia scored to give Danbury the lead for good.

Alex Vazzano stopped 37 of 39 shots to get the win while Frankie McClendon stopped 45 of 48 in the loss.

The Titans have wrapped up their regular season in first place and will host the fourth seed Dayton Demolition in the first round. For information and tickets to the playoffs visit www.danburytitans.com or call 844-DTHOCKEY.
