Bulldogs Earn 10th Win of Season, Beat Port Huron 6-2

In the first game of the weekend for both squads, Port Huron came to Brewster short multiple players, 4 of them to suspension, plus coach Karasiewicz, along with injured star Ahmed Mahfouz. The Bulldogs were looking to come back from their 7-6 defeat in Danbury the weekend prior, now without the services of Tristan Lysko and Mike Zanella. The result was a very good game for the fans in Brewster to enjoy as the Bulldogs skated away with a 6-2 victory.
It was all Brewster in period one. 4 goals in 10:07, two goals from Janis Berzins and goals from Sean Maktaak and Nikolai Okhlobystin. The period would end in a short fight as Jay Kenney hit Zach Hale from behind, and Anthony LoBianco would take on Kenney in a short bout in the Bulldogs zone. In the 2nd period Andy DiCristofaro would only allow a single goal on 20 Brewster shots, the goal coming from Alex Johnson. In the 3rd, Alex Johnson added another goal to make it 6-0 as the puck somehow fooled DiCristofaro and found the back of the net. The Prowlers would have their best play in the 3rd period, and scored twice to ruin Jeromy Semtner's shutout, from Brian Soskin at 6:47, and Justin Alonzo at 11:17. That would be all from Port Huron, and the Bulldogs would win their 10th game of the season, 6-2.
For Brewster, Alex Johnson had 2 goals and an assist, Janis Berzins had 2 goals, Sean Maktaak had a goal and assist and Nikolai Okhlobystin had a goal. Dustin Jesseau and John Scully had 2 assists each. Jeromy Semtner stopped 35 of 37 shots for the victory. For Port Huron, Brian Soskin had a goal and assist and Justin Alonzo had a goal. Andy DiCristofaro stopped 46 of 52 shots for the loss.
The Bulldogs will play tomorrow night in Berlin, who won tonight against Danbury, 9-6. The Prowlers will stay in town and take on the same Titans tomorrow night in Danbury. Paid attendance for tonight's game was 247.
Demolition Blast Danville 7-5 at Hara

DAYTON, OHIO - The Dayton Demolition, coming off their first win against the Port Huron Prowlers on the road, welcomed in the Danville Dashers for a definite battle of the season. While the Dashers got an early lead, Dayton continued to battle and put together a solid 7-5 win against a tough Danville squad.
Danville got on the board first just forty-five seconds in, as Ryan Stouffer made a grand debut with his team with a high blast over Louie George for his first professional goal, from Derrick Schwartz and Justin Levac assisting. The Dashers added another one to an early lead at the 7:31 mark from Daniel Turgeon rushing through the Demolition defense. Turgeon's 14th goal was led by the moves of A.J. Tesoriero as Danville stormed up by two goals early. However, the Demolition had just begun.
The first goal for Dayton's Wrecking Crew was thirty-three seconds after Turgeon's tally, as Ryan Timar scored his first Demolition goal on the year in the slot, rifling past one Dalton McGrath. Timar's first was built up with the blueprints of Michael Lipari and Jacques Lamoureux. For a little while, Danville's lead was safe until the 12:19 mark, when Harry Mahesh bullied a low slide past McGrath, thanks to the help of Mike Henderson and Cody Milligan's crisp passing. For the last goal of the 1st just thirty-nine seconds later, Dayton's Michael Dolman controls a rebound beautifully into the net on a Myles McCauley shot. Mahesh's ninth and Dolman's 11th gave Dayton three unanswered goals heading into the locker rooms, with a 3-2 Demolition lead.
The offense shown itself late in the 2nd period at the 11:44 mark, when Derrick Schwartz scored his first Danville goal and ninth overall with redirection work from Marcus Mitchell, tying the game at 3-3. Nearly one minute later, Danville's Ryan Stouffer buries his second Dasher goal from Brad Denney's passing to bring the visitors up by a goal. Dayton would carry back the momentum on a Lamoureux finish from Timar and Brian Marks, tying the game up at 4-4 after two.
In the 3rd Period, McCauley scored his first Dayton goal unassisted on a second-chance rebound to put Dayton up at the 3:59 mark 5-4. The score would hold steady until the last minute when McCauley strikes the open net of Danville, pushing the Dayton lead to two. About twenty second closer to the final buzzer, Justin Brausen struck for his 27th offering on the year on a Tesoriero find to the slot, giving the Dashers a 6-on-4 Power Play goal. For the final hurrah of offense, Scott Kozlak takes the loose puck in the neutral zone and loops it on home. Dayton won 7-5 in front of a good crowd and the Trotwood-Madison H.S. band.
With the win, Dayton improves to 9-18-3 as they complete the home-and-home tomorrow at Danville, as the Dashers drop to 24-8-3. Danville's Ryan Stouffer won the third star, scoring twice in his FHL debut. Dayton's Ryan Timar won the 2nd Star as he also scored his first goal with his team tonight, and Myles McCauley racked up the Game-Winning Goal and the #1 star.
Louie George returned from the SPHL with a Demolition win, holding 21 shots at-bay from Danville. Dalton McGrath turns away 24 blasts in his second loss of the year.
Dayton's next home game is February 20th against the Danbury Titans. The Demolition will be on the road for next week, making the Northeastern tour with two games in Berlin, one in Danbury, and one in Brewster. For tickets and broadcasting information, visit demolitionhockey.com.
