Tri-Cities Fever News Release
There was something going around a few weeks ago about the Tri-Cities Fever offense struggling to score points.
After Saturday's outburst, one could wonder if it's the same Tri-Cities Fever.
The Fever posted an impressive victory, racking up a season-high 94 points in a 94-30 romp over the Wyoming Cavalry (1-11) at Country Financial Field at the Toyota Center.
It is the most points scored in a game this season by a team in the Indoor Football League. The previous high was 92 scored by Bemidji against Wyoming.
The win marked the Fever's (6-6) third straight win, and it has now won five of its last six games to keep its slim playoff hopes alive.
after this Bye week, the Fever plays this same Wyoming team on Friday, June 6, in Casper, Wyo.
The Fever defense was strong, allowing just 30 points and forcing three turnovers (one fumble, and two interceptions).
However, Saturday night was all about the offense.
Tri-Cities led 35-0 less than two minutes into the second quarter, and led 55-6 at halftime. The Fever continued to pour it on in the second half behind Dante Warren and scored the final touchdown with 1:00 left in the game on a 6-yard touchdown catch by Mario Washington.
