Fever to Honor Simon's Memory

INDIANAPOLIS - To honor the memory of Pacers Sports & Entertainment Co-owner Melvin Simon, the Indiana Fever will wear a black memory band on the shoulder of its jerseys throughout the remainder WNBA Playoffs. Mr. Simon, 82, passed away Wednesday morning.

"It is with great pride for what Mel and the Simon family have done for our Fever franchise, that our team will wear this tribute to honor his memory," said Fever Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Kelly Krauskopf. "Mr. Simon has made wonderful contributions to our city and state. We offer our heart felt sympathy to the Simon family."

The Fever, the top seed in the Eastern Conference, defeated the Washington Mystics in its playoff opener Thursday night, 88-79. Indiana hosts the Mystics on Saturday, 7:00 p.m., at Conseco Fieldhouse for Game 2 of the best-of-three Eastern Conference Semifinals.
