
Fever Re-Sign 2011 All-IFL Second Team Quarterback Houston Lillard

A major development in the future of the 2012 Tri-Cities Fever professional indoor football team came into focus today as the Fever announced that a critical part of the plan to get back to the IFL Title Game in 2012 is in place with the re-signing of the acknowledged second best signal caller in the league, QB Houston Lillard. Lillard will begin his 3 rd year with the team bringing the number of 2011 players coming back to 6.
Head Coach dam Shackleford said, "Houston has worked very hard to become a successful Quarterback in the Indoor Football League. We will continue to put the best talent we can find around him. 2012 will showcase a lot of rookies for the Tri-Cities Fever. I am counting on Houston be the leader he has been for this team in the past and continue to show the composure and decision making that makes him a top QB in this league. I ask a lot out of my quarterback and I put a lot of pressure on them to run my system correctly. Houston has done an outstanding job handling that pressure!"
Lillard had more completions than any other IFL QB in 2011 and was 2 nd in total yards and touchdowns tossed. Lillard captured IFL player of the week honors both in the regular season and in the playoffs in 2011. Lillard was the top rated QB in the 2011 IFL Playoffs as no one had more yards, completions or touchdowns than Houston Lillard. The Fever open training camp on February 9 th.
