Fever Head Back Out on Road

Tri-Cities Fever News Release
If there was ever a good time for the Tri-Cities Fever to end a streak, it would be this Saturday night.
The Fever is back on the road this weekend, to take on the winless Green Bay Blizzard (0-6). Tri-Cities is looking to end a five-game losing streak against the only winless team in the Indoor Football League.
Tri-Cities is 0-3 on the road this season and coming off a 55-28 loss to the Colorado Ice.
And while there have been several things to forget about throughout the first six games, there is still time to turn things around. However, that turnaround has to happen ... now.
At worst, the Fever will be three games out of the playoff picture in the Intense Conference with a win Saturday with seven games left in the season. Of those remaining games, the Fever have home games against both teams (Nebraska and Colorado) they are chasing. But in order to start even thinking about the playoffs, the Fever has to clean some things up on offense.
Through this losing streak, the Fever (1-5) has been plagued by slow starts and turnovers. Those two issues were again the undoing for the Fever last week. Tri-Cities scored just six first-half points digging a 38-6 halftime hole they could not get out of.
This week the Fever offense will take its shots at a Green Bay defense that ranks at or near the bottom of every defensive category.
The Blizzard is allowing a league-worst 59 points per game and 269.3 yards per game. Green Bay has allows 57 or more points in its last four games.
This should bode well for a Fever offense that has not scored more than 40 points during its five-game skid.
Quarterback Houston Lillard will make his third start since returning to the Fever three weeks ago. Lillard showed last week he is still trying to settle back in after nearly 18 months away from the game, completed 20 of 36 passes for 154 yards and one touchdown. He did throw three interceptions.
One of the big bright spots on the Fever offense early this season has been the running game led by Keithon Flemming. Flemming, in his second year with the Fever, had seven carries for 35 yards in the loss to the Ice last week. He added an 18-yard touchdown run, his fourth rushing touchdown in the past two games.
Flemming leads the IFL in yards per carry at 5.6 per rush and ranks seventh in the league in rushing yards with 206. He also ranks third in the league in scoring with 8 touchdowns.

The Fever made some transactions Thursday activating defensive lineman Pablo Garcia from injured reserve. The Fever also signed defensive back Ashante Williams (6-foot, 190 pounds) while placing defensive back Dustin Bell on season-ending injured reserve... This is the second meeting between the two teams. The Blizzard won the only other meeting, 66-54 on April 20, 2013, in Green Bay ... The Fever has lost five straight road games dating back to last season. The last road win came May 11, 2013, against Wyoming ... Green Bay has lost 11 straight games dating back to last season.
