Demonz Dominate Dashers
Danville, IL - Luke Flicek scores his second goal of the game 7:11 in to the third period to lift the Dayton Demonz to their 9th regulation victory of the season. The winger banged home a pass from Jason Hill past a down and out Jo St. Pierre to lift the Demonz to a 6-3 lead.
The 3-goal lead wouldn't hold for long as Shawn McNulty blocked a outlet pass from the Demonz and fired a wrist shot past Demonz netminder Jeff Rose 8:59 into the third period. Just :55 seconds later Darick Ste Marie tapped in a Jonathan Juliano pass to cut the Demonz lead to one goal. Rose stood strong for remainder of the game allowing the Demonz to fight towards victory.
The game's scoring opened 4:42 into the first as Jonathan Juliano scored a nifty backhander over Rose to put the Dashers ahead. Late in the second, however, the Demonz piled on two power play goals, one from Flicek at 16:50 and the other from Marcus Pryde at 18:33.
The Demonz came out flying in the second period after an Ahmed Mafouz strike put them up 3-1. Lee McClure returned fire for Danville, banging home a slap shot on the power play at 8:16.
After Danville seemed to turn the tides, Pryde scored his second of the game on a quick fire breakaway on a long pass from Ahmed Mafouz. Dashers forward David Lun knocked home a centering pass from Lee McClure to cut the Demonz lead back to one late in the frame.
Nicholas Petriello was able to extend the lead to 2 goals 6:17 into the third before Flicek's decisive strike.
Dayton improves to 9-1-1-1 and Danville drops to 2-1-1-7. The teams will meet again in Danville on December 13th.
Danbury Downs Cape Cod, 6-3
Tyler Noseworthy finished with two points to lead the Danbury Whalers to a 6-3 victory over the Cape Cod Bluefins.
Danbury surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Whalers average 3.7 goals per contest. Danbury was hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled nine minors and one major for 23 minutes in penalty time. The Whalers got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Danbury put 48 shots on net during the contest, more than the 35.5 it averages per game.
Danbury additionally got points from Paul DAgostino, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Brendan Taylor, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Kelly Miller, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Cody Ayers also scored for Danbury. More assists for Danbury came via Adam Houli, who had two, Leland Fidler, who had three, and Mike Atkinson and Gentry Zollars, who contributed one a piece.
Cape Cod kept the Whalers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Mike Brown made 51 saves on 54 shots.
The Bluefins were led by Matthew Harrington, who registered one goal and one assist. Harrington scored on the power play 5:06 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Cape Cod. Cape Cod had taken the advantage when Danbury's DAgostino got sent off for interference. Taylor Larsen picked up the assist. Cape Cod also got a goal from Casey Mignone as well. In addition, Cape Cod received assists from Luke Frey, George Nichols, Steven Drizis, and Tyler Howe, who each chipped in one.
The Whalers registered one goal on two power play opportunities. The Bluefins' Scott Barhard stopped 42 shots out of the 48 that he faced. Cape Cod totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 2-for-8 on the power play.

1000 Islands' Big Second Period Beats Williamsport, 8-3
WATERTOWN- The Thousand Islands Privateers started off Thanksgiving with a strong outing against the Williamsport Outlaws. The Privateers won the home matchup with a 8-3 score.
The Privateers struck in the first-period on a powerplay goal by Brent Tamane at the 6:47 mark. The Privateers didn't look back from this point.
The second-period started with three consecutive goals by the Privateers. The first came when Adam McAllister scored with 17:33 left in the period. Peter Campbell followed that with a score five minutes into the period. Michael Fransen finished the Privateers scoring trifecta with a goal 9:25 into the period. The Outlaws cut the lead to 4-1 with a goal by Jeff Winchester with 9:15 left in the period. The Privateers' Chris Greene answered with two-goals to end the period, extending the lead to 6-1.
The Outlaws scored one of their two third-period goals 49 seconds into the period on a Tyler Matheson goal. The Privateers Justin MacDonald answered with a goal 8:32 into the period. Williamsport Robert Sich answered the MacDonald goal with his own 15:36 into the period. Adam McAllister sealed the win with this second goal of the night with 37 seconds left in the period.
The Privateers will look to push their win streak to two games when they face Cape Cod on Friday in Watertown.
Matheson Nets One In Outlaws Loss
WATERTOWN, NY - Tyler Matheson left Wednesday night's game with blood pouring down his face after he fought Chase Tippin in the third period, but Matheson would find the twine for the first time this season in the Outlaws 8-3 loss to the 1000 Island Privateers.
Matheson's goal came unassisted at the :49 mark of the 3rd period after he intercepted a clearing attempt at the blue line, pick his spot and delivered a rocket over the glove of Matt Anthony. The goal cut into the Privateers lead.
The Privateers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first period when Brent Tamane beat Chris Whitley at the 6:47 mark. The Outlaws would be held to eight shots in the period and held off the scoreboard.
1000 Islands would add on their lead in the second period with goals from Adam McAllister, Peter Campbell, Michael Fransen and two goals from Chris Greene to jump out to a 6-1 lead.
The Outlaws got on the board with a tally from Jeff Winchester at the 10:45 mark of the second period on the power play. Robert Sich and Matt Smyth picked up the assists on the goal for the Outlaws.
Sich would score his team high 12th goal of the season in the third period at the 15:36 mark. Nick Van Den Beld and Brett Needham were credited with the assists on the goal.
Mike DiLorenzo replaced Chris Whitley in the 3rd period, after Whitley allowed six goals on 31 shots faced through 40 minutes of play. DiLorenzo would turn away 10 Privateers shots on 12 total shots faced.
Matt Anthony made 31 saves on 34 shots faced in the winning effort.
In the loss Trevor Karasiewicz had his six-game point streak ended as he failed to gain a point in the loss.
The Outlaws will face the Danville Dashers Friday night at home under the lights of Airmen Pond at Historic Bowman Field.
