It has been a long offseason, and the Grand Rapids Rampage want to give their fans an early look at the excitement in store for the new year. West Michigan's very own Arena Football League team will host an open scrimmage on Feb. 12 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. (EST) at Van Andel Arena. While the Cleveland Gladiators and Rampage prepare for the season's start, fans will be treated to all of the excitement that the AFL has to offer and more.
Tuesday, February 12 - Cleveland Gladiators vs. Grand Rapids Rampage
- Open Scrimmage - Rampage fans can catch their first glimpse of their team led by brand new head coach Steve Thonn as Grand Rapids plays host to the Cleveland Gladiators in a controlled scrimmage. The scrimmage is open and free to the public. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., with a start time set for 5 p.m.
- The HUGE Show Live Remote - WBBL 1340 AM's "The HUGE Show" will be broadcasting live from Van Andel Arena from 4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.
- Free Hot Dogs - The first 500 fans through the doors will receive a voucher good for one free hot dog at Van Andel Arena's concession stands.
- Authentic Jersey Sale - Select authentic, game-worn jerseys from past Rampage seasons will be on sale throughout the scrimmage on Van Andel Arena's concourse. Jerseys of Grand Rapids' best athletes will be available for purchase on a first come, first served basis.
- Rage Dance Team and Blitz - Members of the 2008 Rage Dance Team and Blitz, the Rampage's mascot, will be on hand to greet fans and sign autographs throughout the night.
- Huntington Club - Huntington Club, Van Andel Arena's exclusive bar and restaurant normally available to premium seat and suite holders only, will open its doors to all fans for one night only.
- Ticket Selection - Fans interested in purchasing single-game or season tickets can test out and select their seats for the exciting 2008 Rampage season.
- Autograph Session - Following the end of the scrimmage, fans can collect autographs and meet the newest members of the Grand Rapids Rampage.
TICKETS: The scrimmage is open to the public and admission is free. Tickets to all of the Rampage's upcoming 2008 home games can be purchased at RampageFootball.com or by calling Star Tickets Plus directly at (616) 222-4000. Tickets are also available at all Star Tickets Plus outlets, including West Michigan Meijer stores.
