"We are heading into a really difficult venue against top quality opposition," said FC Edmonton head coach Colin Miller. "We are disappointed to lose both Tomi and Milton for the next game, but the team are really excited, they know that they put in the a good shift on Wednesday night and are looking forward to playing the Spring Champions this weekend."
FC Edmonton are two-thirds done a three-game-in-seven-days stretch in the Fall Season of the North American Soccer League (NASL). While FC Edmonton had their chances against Minnesota United FC, it was a penalty kick for the Loons that gave the home team the 1-0 victory over the Eddies. That match also saw 17 year-old Marko Aleksic make his professional soccer debut for the Eddies.
Minnesota United FC (3-1-0) extended its NASL unbeaten streak to eight games with a 2-1 win over the Ottawa Fury at TCF Bank Stadium on August 2. League leading scorer Christian Ramirez earned his ninth goal of the season against Ottawa last Saturday and will surely be looking to add more to his tally.
